Worth the investment

I was looking for something to help with our firm's financial reporting, and the Multi-Company Consolidation Tool seemed like a good fit. I tried the 30-day trial first, which was smart. It helped me confirm it was worth the purchase. It definitely saves time, so I feel like I got good value for the money.

Mostly good experience

I bought the ExcelFSM Standard version. The setup was pretty simple, and the Financial Statement Templates are a real time-saver. I did have a minor hiccup trying to import a trial balance, but their support team was quick to respond and walked me through it. It's a solid tool, though it would be nice if the initial mapping process was a tiny bit more intuitive without needing to refer to the guide so much.

Super easy to use

I grabbed the ExcelFSM add-in for my work stuff. It was honestly way easier to get going than I thought it would be. Just plugged it into Excel and it just worked. Made generating those financial statements much less of a headache for me.

Reliable as always

This is my third time getting a license for ExcelFSM, and they've been consistently good. I upgraded to ExcelFSM Pro this time, and the transition was smooth, just like my previous renewals. Their General Ledger Drill Down is still a lifesaver; it really speeds up my process every month end. Never had issues with their software.

Solid tool for accountants

I purchased the ExcelFSM add-in a few weeks ago, mainly for the Automated Financial Statements and GL Drill Down Option. The ordering process on their website was straightforward. Installation was a breeze; it integrated with my Office 365 without any problems. The GL drill down feature works really well and has made reconciling accounts much faster. I also used the Account Grouping Tool to customize some reports. Delivery was instant since it's a download. Their support responded within a few hours when I had a question about multi-currency consolidation, even though I don't need it yet. It's a robust piece of software.

I'm looking at ExcelFSM but also considering Fathom. Anyone used both and can tell me how they stack up, especially for financial statements?

R Rosa Bennett 2 months ago
ExcelFSM is way more integrated with Excel itself for the actual statements. Fathom is more dashboard-y. Depends if you want to stay in Excel or go outside it for reporting.

Fathom felt a bit more 'packaged' to me, while ExcelFSM gives you more control directly in your spreadsheets. If you live in Excel, FSM is probably better for drill downs and custom statements.

Has anyone had any luck finding coupon codes for ExcelFSM? Trying to get a small discount on a new license.

R Rosa Bennett 2 months ago
Discounts are pretty rare for new purchases, to be honest. I only ever see them for renewals or if you're part of a professional group.

I've only seen renewal discounts pop up, or sometimes for CPA firms. They don't really do general promo codes often.

Considering this for a small accounting firm. Do they offer any kind of multi-user discount if we buy licenses for a few people?

T Tom 2 months ago
Definitely! They have volume licensing for firms. That's usually where you can get a better deal than individual licenses.

Yeah, look into their multi-user or firm licensing. It's specifically designed for that kind of situation and generally saves you money per seat.

Do they have an academic discount for students? I'm learning accounting and this looks super useful.

D Derek 2 months ago
Yeah, I think they do! I remember seeing something about it on their site or in an FAQ. Worth checking their specific discount page.

Yes, they offer an academic discount. You usually have to verify your student status, but it's a good deal if you qualify.

Just got my renewal notice for ExcelFSM, is there a specific discount for renewing your license?

N Nick 2 months ago
There often is! Check your email or their website. They usually have a special renewal discount they send out.

Yep, renewal discounts are one of the main ones they offer. I'd expect to see one. If not, maybe reach out to them.

How's the installation process for the add-in? Is it straightforward or a pain?

Hey, wondering if anyone knows if ExcelFSM works with Mac Excel? Or is it just a Windows thing?

J Josh 2 months ago
Nah, it's Windows only right now. Tried looking for a Mac version a while back, no luck.

K Kevin G. 2 months ago
Yeah, unfortunately, it's not compatible with Mac. You'd need a Windows environment to run it.

Thinking of trying ExcelFSM for my firm. Do they offer any kind of free trial or something similar?

S Shane Y. 2 months ago
Absolutely, they have a 30-day full-featured free trial. That's how I started using it, definitely recommend taking advantage of it.

M Mark L. 2 months ago
Yeah, there's a free trial. It's the best way to see if it fits your workflow before buying.
